A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for the Helena Valley, Missouri Headwaters, and Madison River Valley, effective immediately until Monday, October 12, at 6:00 AM MDT. Residents should prepare for heavy, wet snow and strong winds.

The National Weather Service in Great Falls, MT, warns of additional snow accumulations between 3 and 7 inches, accompanied by wind gusts as high as 40 mph. These conditions are expected to make travel very difficult. The combination of gusty winds and heavy, wet snow could also bring down tree branches, leading to isolated power outages.

Snowfall amounts may vary, with accumulations on non-grassy surfaces primarily occurring between this evening and late morning. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle. For the latest road conditions, dial 511.
