A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Gallatin Valley until Sunday at 6 PM MDT, with wet snow and gusty winds expected, potentially causing difficult travel and power outages.
A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the Gallatin Valley by the National Weather Service in Great Falls MT, effective immediately until 6:00 PM MDT Sunday, October 11.
Residents should prepare for wet snow and hazardous travel conditions. Total snow accumulations of up to two inches are expected during the advisory period, with winds gusting as high as 40 mph. For Sunday evening into Monday morning, a Winter Storm Warning will take effect, anticipating heavy, wet snow with total accumulations between 4 and 8 inches.
Travel in the Gallatin Valley could become very difficult. The combination of gusty winds and heavy, wet snow may lead to downed tree branches and isolated power outages. The Monday morning commute is expected to be significantly impacted.
