A Wind Advisory has been issued for Death Valley National Park, effective from 2 PM PDT Saturday, October 10, until 5 AM PDT Monday, October 12. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Las Vegas, NV, warns of south winds between 25 to 35 mph, with gusts potentially reaching up to 60 mph.
Residents and visitors within Death Valley National Park should secure all outdoor objects to prevent them from being blown around. High-profile vehicles may experience difficult driving conditions due to the strong winds. Exercise extra caution while on the roads.
The NWS also advises that tree limbs could be blown down, and isolated power outages are possible. There may be a temporary decrease in wind activity from late Saturday night through Sunday morning before winds are expected to intensify again Sunday afternoon.
