BIBB COUNTY, AL – October 8, 2026 – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Birmingham, AL, has issued a Tropical Storm Watch for Bibb County, effective immediately and expiring today, October 8, 2026, at 9:00 PM UTC. Residents, particularly in Centreville, are urged to complete all preparations now.

A Flood Watch is in effect, with potential for 3-6 inches of rain and localized higher amounts, which could lead to moderate flooding. Rivers and tributaries may swell, and small streams could overflow. Driving conditions will become hazardous, and some road closures are possible. Heed all flood watches and warnings.

Winds are forecast to be 20-30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph, posing a limited threat of damage to outdoor structures and trees. Scattered power and communication outages are possible. Secure loose outdoor items. Hazardous driving conditions on bridges and elevated roadways are anticipated.
