Wind Advisory Issued for Region: Gusts Up To 50 MPH Expected Until Noon
A Wind Advisory is in effect until noon today for multiple counties, with northwest wind gusts up to 50 mph expected, potentially causing power outages and difficult driving conditions.
Residents in New Castle, Kent, Somerset, Middlesex, Mercer, Salem, Gloucester, Camden, Northwestern Burlington, Cumberland, Delaware, Philadelphia, Eastern Montgomery, and Lower Bucks counties should prepare for strong winds and exercise caution today, September 27. A Wind Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Mount Holly NJ, effective from 4:25 AM EDT until 12:00 PM EDT.
Northwest winds are expected to reach 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 40 to 50 mph. These conditions may blow around unsecured outdoor objects. There is also a possibility of tree limbs being blown down and isolated power outages.
The NWS advises that winds of this strength can make driving challenging, particularly for high-profile vehicles. Motorists should use extra caution. All residents are urged to secure any outdoor objects that could be affected by the strong winds.
