Wind Advisory Issued for San Juan and Western Whatcom Counties
A Wind Advisory has been issued for San Juan County and the lowlands of Western Whatcom County, effective from 2 AM to 2 PM PDT on Tuesday, September 29, with south winds gusting up to 45 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
Residents in San Juan County and the lowlands of Western Whatcom County should prepare for strong winds, according to a Wind Advisory issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Seattle.
The advisory is in effect from 2 AM PDT on Tuesday, September 29, until 2 PM PDT on Tuesday, September 29. South winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts reaching 40 to 45 mph are expected during this period.
These gusty winds may blow around unsecured objects. There is also a possibility of tree limbs being blown down and isolated power outages. The NWS advises that winds of this strength can make driving difficult, particularly for high-profile vehicles. Drivers should use extra caution when traveling.
Ensure any loose outdoor items are secured before the advisory takes effect.
