Bay Harbor Islands has finalized collective bargaining agreements with two employee organizations: the South Florida Police Benevolent Association (SFPBA) and AFSCME Florida Council 79.

AFSCME Florida Council 79, which represents some municipal employees, agreed to a contract in 2023 that extends through 2026. Election results for this union were verified in 2024.

The SFPBA, representing the town's police officers, has a current contract running from 2023 to 2026. This follows prior agreements from 2020-2023 and 2017-2020.

The SFPBA also signed a Memorandum of Understanding in 2021 addressing the Medical Review Officer process and adding Juneteenth as a holiday.

These agreements govern wages, benefits, working conditions and holiday schedules.
