Polk County Sheriff PIOs Available to Media
The Polk County Sheriff's Office has Public Information Officers available to the media for official updates. Recent releases include arrest details and incident reports from across the county.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) designates Public Information Officers (PIOs) to serve as the primary liaisons between the department and news media organizations. These officers ensure timely and accurate dissemination of information to the community.
The PIO team releases public information including crime statistics, Crime Stoppers bulletins, and responses to news inquiries. Residents can receive updates on public safety matters and law enforcement activities across the county.
The full-time PIOs for the PCSO are Carrie Horstman, Brian Bruchey and Julianna Rivera. They can be reached collectively via email at [email protected]. The Sheriff's Office also maintains an online presence for recent news releases, with archived releases older than 2017 available separately.
Recent PCSO releases include updates on arrests and incidents. On Aug. 14, 2026, the PCSO arrested Erasmo Rodriguez, 26, of Haines City. On Aug. 12, 2026, a suspect faced multiple charges after resisting arrest during a pedestrian violation. Robert Lee Williams, of Mulberry, received eight felony charges and a misdemeanor on Aug. 12, 2026, after attempting to steal a scooter. Also on Aug. 12, 2026, deputies killed an armed suspect who fired at law enforcement and wounded a K9. On Aug. 5, 2026, Gibson Nash was charged with murder for the death of his mother in their Eagle Lake home.
