Tri County Tech Names 2026 Students of the Year

Tri County Tech named Gatlin Scott and Jose Ortiz its 2026 Students of the Year for their work in the Practical Nursing and Applied Welding Technology programs.
Scott graduated from the Practical Nursing program and plans to pursue an RN degree. Jessica Guest, Health Occupations Coordinator, said Scott brought focus and enthusiasm to every class and clinical experience. "He leads by example, demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, and a genuine commitment to providing safe, compassionate care," Guest said. Scott credited his former supervisor Lyn McKee as his greatest inspiration.
Ortiz graduated from Applied Welding Technology and Bartlesville High School. He chose the program after family members working in welding influenced his decision. Tosha Wren, Instructional Aide, said Ortiz consistently demonstrated strong leadership and responsibility in the classroom. "He takes initiative, supports his classmates, and takes pride in maintaining a positive classroom environment," Wren said. Ortiz credited his uncle as his inspiration and plans to enter the workforce after graduation.
Tri County Tech also recognized its 2025-2026 Students of the Month: Halie Arnold, Jazmyne Clark, Treavor Emberson, Zachary Ennis, Daisy Evans, Pierce Hindman, Katie Hughes, Travis Knight, Saraia LaTorraca, Tyler Neel, Kennedy Newsom, Taja Rowens, Alexis Warner, and Aleasha Whitaker.
