Sparklight grant brings 3D printer to Tri County Tech biosciences program

Tri County Tech will use a $2,500 Sparklight grant to purchase a 3D printer and filament for its Medicine and Biosciences program.

Students will design and develop biomedical prototypes based on real-world healthcare applications. The grant came through Sparklight's annual Dream Bigger social media campaign, which funds science, technology, engineering, and math education for K-12 students.

"This investment directly supports our mission to provide biomedical students with hands-on learning opportunities and the tools they need to become the next generation of healthcare innovators," said Dr. Tammie Strobel, superintendent and CEO of Tri County Tech.

Kenny Walker, Sparklight senior regional director for the South Central region, said the grant gives students access to critical technology for healthcare careers.

Tri County Tech operates campuses in Bartlesville, Pawhuska, and Nowata. The school offers free high school programs combining classroom instruction with practical experience.
