Tri County Tech Instructor Wins Regional Teaching Award
Casey Woods, a Medicine and Biosciences instructor at Tri County Tech, won the Association for Career and Technical Education Region IV New Teacher of the Year award on April 30.
Woods advanced from state competition to regional judging, where educators from multiple states competed. She will represent Region IV at the national competition in December. The award recognizes teachers in their first five years who demonstrate classroom excellence and commitment to student success.
Woods trains students through hands-on learning connected to career pathways. She partners with local healthcare providers to give students clinical exposure before graduation.
"Watching students grow in confidence and skill as they prepare for careers in healthcare is what makes this work rewarding," Woods said.
Dr. Tammie Strobel, superintendent and CEO at Tri County Tech, said Woods exemplifies the school's mission. "Her passion for student success and ability to connect learning to real-world careers make a lasting impact," Strobel said.
Tri County Tech serves students across Washington, Osage, and Nowata counties from its Bartlesville campus and locations in Pawhuska and Nowata. More information is available at TriCountyTech.edu/highschool.
