Residents in Coalinga, Avenal, Buena Vista, and the West Side Mountains South of Highway 198 should prepare for strong winds. The National Weather Service (NWS) Hanford CA has issued a Wind Advisory effective until 11:00 PM PDT this evening, October 11.
Southwest winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts potentially reaching 45 mph are expected. These conditions are anticipated to affect areas primarily west of Interstate 5.
Gusty winds can dislodge unsecured outdoor objects and may lead to downed tree limbs. Isolated power outages are possible. The NWS advises that driving may become difficult, particularly for high-profile vehicles. Exercise extra caution if traveling.
