Emily Rose Yuratich Clayton Graveside Services

Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 28, 2026 in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Mausoleum for Emily Rose Yuratich Clayton, 75, who passed away on May 21, 2026.Deacon Cliff Tanner, Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, will conduct the funeral services.Mrs. Clayton of Scott, daughter of the late Emile and Rose Yuratich, will be remembered for her kind heart, warm smile, and love of people. Born and raised in Buras, LA, Emily graduated from Delta Heritage High School in 1969. After meeting and marrying the love of her life, Emily and Mike moved to Lafayette, LA for Mike's work. They have made Lafayette their home these past 53 years, raising their sons, welcoming grandchildren, and making friends along the way. Known as “Nana” to her granddaughters and “Emmie” to her nieces and nephews, she cherished every conversation and never met a stranger. She especially enjoyed spending time at her shop in the Sunset Antique Market alongside her sister Carolyn, where she loved "chit-chatting" with everyone who came through the door! Emily’s gentle spirit, genuine kindness, and joyful nature touched countless lives. She leaves behind cherished memories and a lasting reminder to greet others with warmth, compassion, and a smile.She is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, Michael "Mike" Albert Clayton; sons, David E. (Aura) Clayton and Thomas A. (Erica) Clayton; granddaughters, Elizabeth Grace and Emma Lou Clayton; and sisters, June Y. Perlander and Carolyn Yuratich.She was preceded in death by her parents, Emile & Rose Yuratich; sister, Sylvia Y. (Glynn) McNabb; and brother-in-law, Luke Perlander.Special thanks to our “adopted daughter,” Seidina Wells, whose loving devotion and friendship meant so much to her. For these past 10 years, Seidina faithfully cared for her with unwavering support. We are forever grateful for the special bond they shared.
