A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Albany, Dougherty County, effective immediately as of October 9 at 10:57 PM EDT by the National Weather Service (NWS) Tallahassee FL. This warning is in effect until October 10 at 7:00 AM UTC.

Residents should prepare for hazardous wind, potential major flooding, and the possibility of several tornadoes. Peak winds are forecast to be 10-20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph, but tropical storm force winds of 39-57 mph are possible. Efforts to protect property should be underway now. Limited damage to structures like porches, carports, and mobile homes is possible, along with downed tree limbs and scattered power outages.

A Flood Watch is in effect, with an additional 2-4 inches of rain expected, leading to potential major flooding. Emergency plans should include the possibility of evacuations and rescues. Heed all flood watches and warnings.

The situation is also favorable for tornadoes, with a potential for several, some possibly intense. Those in manufactured homes or on boats should relocate to safe shelter. Listen for tornado watches and warnings and be ready to shelter quickly if issued.
