Recycling Changes in West Mead Township
Recycling bins are no longer available at the West Mead Township building for items including newspapers, standard office paper, cardboard, glass, aluminum and standard metals cans, glass bottles and certain plastics. Most metals and various computer and electronic items can be taken to Meadville Metal located on Mead Avenue in Meadville, PA 16335. For any questions contact the Township Office at 814-336-1271 or by calling the Crawford County Solid Waste Authority at 814-333-7366 or at www.countyrecycling.com. West Mead Township Adopted Speed Limit Ordinance
The Board of Supervisors of West Mead Township adopted a Speed Limit Ordinance at the Public Meeting on December 10, 2024. A copy of the adopted final version is available by clicking here. Short-Term Rental License Required in Sadsbury Township
Sadsbury Township Board of Supervisors adopted a Short-Term Rental Ordinance which requires all owners of short-term rental units to secure an annual License from Sadsbury Township, effective 2025. The license fee is $50 per unit up to 4 units and $25 for each additional unit. Please submit the Short-Term Rental License Application and fee to the township office. Application may be submitted via email to [email protected]. Once License is issued, it must be posted in a visible place within the STR unit. Fence Regulations Updated in West Mead Township
Most fences constructed or installed in West Mead Township do not require a permit. The regulations and requirements along with sample illustrations can be found at https://westmead.org/documents/fence-requirements/. We are in the process of updating all our zoning and building information, applications and permits in 2025 so look for more information in the upcoming months. Oak Grove Park Pavilion Rental Calendars Available
We now have monthly calendars available online so you can see what dates already have reservations scheduled for each of the pavilions on certain days of each month. Pavilion 1 is shown with a Green Triangle and Pavilion 2 is shown with a Blue Circle. These calendars are available for May through October and updated as quickly as possible and available using the link below. You may still want to contact us for up to date information or for future years reservations. City Council is currently seeking applicants to fill vacancies on the following authorities and committee: Meadville Redevelopment Authority Beautification Committee Those interested in serving are encouraged to complete an application and submit it to the City Clerk's office as soon as possible. Applications may be returned in-person to the City Building during operating hours, or emailed to [email protected]. Applications will be accepted until the vacancies are filled.

Meadville Spring Clean Up Day Announced for 2026
"The annual City of Meadville Clean-Up Day is Saturday, May 16, 2026 from 8am - 12pm at the City's Public Works Garage, 1340 South Cottage St. The garage is accessible from Clark Rd., where it intersects with US Route 322 south of Channellock. Signs will be posted advising drivers where to go. Public Works employees will be on hand to assist with directing traffic and unloading vehicles.Each vehicle load is $10.00, and proof of residency is required.Accepted Items: Construction materials (bricks, concrete blocks, shingles, dried paint cans, etc.) Mattresses Batteries of all types Yard waste & organic materials (keep separate from other debris) Not Accepted Items: Electronics (TVs, phones, computers, monitors, etc.) Fluorescent light bulbs Liquids including paint and household chemicals Tires Junk vehicles Household trash Clothing Appliances with freon Thermostats containing mercury "
