USF Alumna Alexis Pugh Leads Communications for Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County
Tampa, FL – Alexis Pugh, a proud alumna of the University of South Florida (USF) in Tampa Department of Communication, is making a significant impact in the local community as the Director of Communications for Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County.
In her role, Pugh is responsible for overseeing all internal and external communications for the organization. This comprehensive scope includes managing media relations, social media presence, website content, newsletters, and crucial communications with partners and donors.
When asked about her favorite aspect of the job, Pugh emphasized the profound satisfaction she derives from sharing the stories of the families served by Habitat for Humanity. “It’s incredibly rewarding to see the impact that decent, affordable housing has on a family and I am honored to play a part in sharing those stories with the community,” Pugh stated.
Pugh credits her time at USF for equipping her with essential skills. “My time at USF taught me the importance of being a strong writer and communicator. I also learned how to think critically and solve problems, which are essential skills for any communications professional,” she explained.
