A Wind Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Jackson, MS, affecting portions of central and south Mississippi and northeast Louisiana. This advisory is in effect from 1:00 AM CDT to 7:00 PM CDT on Saturday, October 10th.

North winds are expected to reach 20 to 30 mph, with gusts potentially up to 40 mph. Gusts up to 50 mph are possible in some areas. The NWS advises securing all unsecured outdoor objects to prevent them from blowing around. Tree limbs could be blown down, and isolated power outages are a possibility.

Affected areas include: East Carroll, Madison, Tensas, and Concordia parishes in Louisiana; and Bolivar, Sunflower, Leflore, Grenada, Carroll, Montgomery, Washington, Humphreys, Holmes, Attala, Issaquena, Sharkey, Yazoo, Madison, Leake, Warren, Hinds, Rankin, Scott, Claiborne, Copiah, Simpson, Smith, Jefferson, Adams, Franklin, Lincoln, Lawrence, Jefferson Davis, Covington, Marion, and Lamar counties in Mississippi.

Driving may be difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles, due to strong winds. Residents are urged to use extra caution when traveling. Secure any loose outdoor items now to prevent damage or injury.
