Severe Thunderstorm Warning: Madison & Yazoo Counties Until 8:15 PM CDT

Residents in parts of Madison and Yazoo Counties are advised to take immediate shelter as a Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Jackson, MS. The warning is effective until 8:15 PM CDT tonight, September 21, 2026.

At 7:58 PM CDT, NWS radar indicated a severe thunderstorm located near Annandale, approximately 7 miles northwest of Gluckstadt, moving southeast at 10 mph. This storm poses hazards including 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-sized hail.

Impacts are expected to include hail damage to vehicles and wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. The affected areas are mainly rural parts of south-central Yazoo and southwestern Madison Counties.
