AUGUSTA, Ga. (Sept. 17, 2026) –The Greater Augusta Arts Council will host the 2026 Arts in the Heart of Augusta Festival September 18–20 at the Augusta Exchange Club Fairgrounds.
As a community partner, Augusta, Georgia Government will support festival operations by providing Augusta Transit service and implementing temporary traffic adjustments to help maintain safe travel in the surrounding area.
Westbound traffic on Laney Walker Boulevard will be reduced to one lane, while eastbound lanes will remain open to thru traffic. Hale Street, from 4th Street to 3rd Street, will be closed to all traffic, and 3rd Street, between Hale Street and Laney Walker Boulevard, will also be closed.
Festival organizers have identified several parking locations for attendees, including approximately 750 spaces at the Fairgrounds, Craig-Houghton Elementary School and the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office parking lot.
To help reduce vehicle congestion near the Fairgrounds, Augusta Transit will provide complimentary transportation service for festival attendees. Buses will operate approximately every 30 minutes, with pickup and drop-off locations at the Municipal Building Parking Lot, Marriott Parking Garage, and Richmond County Board of Education Parking Garage throughout the day.
Additional transportation or event-related services may also be available through the festival organizers and other participating partners.
Motorists traveling through the area are encouraged to allow additional travel time, remain alert for changing traffic patterns, and follow posted signage and law enforcement direction.
