To begin the lot split process, applicants must submit a complete online application. This requires personal and property information, including details for any authorized agent. Payment of application and review deposit fees is also mandatory.

A required PDF document must include a vicinity map showing surrounding streets and current zoning and land use for the site and areas within a 500-foot radius. A plat map, suitable for recording and incorporating specific items from the city's Procedures Manual, is also necessary.

For properties with Planned Developments or legal instruments detailing private facilities such as bikeways, lighting, stormwater drainage, walls, fences, entry features, or lift stations, the recorded plat must clearly reflect these elements.
