King most recently served as president of Ascension St. Vincent's Southside and senior vice president, Ascension Florida and Gulf Coast. "Don is a proven leader with a deep understanding of our mission and a commitment to providing compassionate, personalized care," said Tom VanOsdol, president and CEO, Ascension Healthcare, a ministry market of Ascension. "I am confident that he will lead Ascension Florida and Gulf Coast with vision and integrity." In his new role, King will be responsible for the overall strategy and operations of Ascension Florida and Gulf Coast, which includes hospitals and sites of care from Jacksonville to Tampa Bay to the Emerald Coast. He will work closely with the system's leadership team to ensure that Ascension continues to provide high-quality, affordable care to the communities it serves. King has more than 20 years of experience in healthcare leadership. Prior to joining Ascension St. Vincent's Southside, he served in various leadership roles at hospitals and health systems in Florida and Georgia. King holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Jacksonville University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Healthcare Administration from Georgia Southern University.
