The purpose of the hearing is to consider a proposed rezoning request. Learn Before You Vote: Deerfield Beach
The City of Deerfield Beach will host two more public informational forums in October to discuss proposed charter amendments appearing on the municipal ballot this November. These additional meetings give residents another opportunity to review the ballot measures, ask questions, and learn about proposed changes to the city charter ahead of Election Day. The schedule for the upcoming public forums is as follows: Forum 3: Saturday, October. 10, at 10 a.m. Hillsboro Technology Center, 50 Hillsboro Technology Dr. Forum 4: Monday, October. 12, at 1:30 p.m. West Deerfield Community Center, 580 S Powerline Rd. Tamarac's Ruth Bader Ginsburg Commission Meets Monthly, Discusses Gender Equality
The Ruth Bader Ginsburg Commission is a standing commission of the City of Tamarac. The commission is responsible for advancing the legacy of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg by promoting gender equality, justice, and fairness for all residents. Mission: To honor the life and legacy of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg by fostering an environment that promotes gender equality, justice, and fairness for all residents of the City of Tamarac. The commission will work to educate, advocate, and implement programs that reflect these core values. Goals: 1. Education and Awareness: To increase public understanding of issues related to gender equality and justice. 2. Advocacy: To advocate for policies and initiatives that support gender equality and fairness. 3. Community Engagement: To engage the community through events, workshops, and partnerships that promote the commission's mission. 4. Recognition: To recognize individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to gender equality and justice. The volunteers who participate provide the Board of County Commissioners with valuable insight and are greatly appreciated. Citizens that volunteer on the various boards and committees have an interest in the area of service and the necessary expertise to accomplish the goals of the specific advisory group. Several of the committees require financial disclosure pursuant to Florida Statutes, Section 112.3145, and must file a Form 1, Statement of Financial Interests within 30 days of appointment. Road Impact Fees
The Board of County Commissioners adopted a revised Road Impact Fee Ordinance. Please note: The ordinance imposes impact fees for alteration, expansion, or replacement of a building or dwelling unit or the construction of an accessory building or structure if the alteration, expansion, or replacement results in a land use determined to generate greater external trips than the present use under the applicable road impact fee rate. Impact fees are charged at the proposed land use category rate less the road impact fee land category prior to the alteration, expansion, or replacement. Road impact fees will increase for new development in Sumter County starting each January 1. These one-time fees help fund essential infrastructure improvements, such as new roads, additional lanes, and intersection upgrades required to support community growth. Rec on the Moove
During the year, our Recreation team will be making stops in neighborhoods and parks throughout the Village. Our "Rec on the Moove" trailer includes activities such as cornhole, arts and crafts, sports equipment, frisbee, relay races, hula hoops, and so much more.
