The sand at this summery beach resort town, between Atlantic City and Cape May, was EXCELLENT for sand-castle building. No oil. No rocks. I could drip the spires straight up and it held together despite wind and surf for quite a while.

Caribbean Motel on NRHP since August 24, 2005. At 5600 Ocean Ave. in Wildwood Crest (south of Wildwood), New Jersey in Cape May County. Built 1958 in a distinctive modern (Las Vegas? Jetsons?) style, aka Googie style, or locally "Doo-Wop". See also "Chateau Bleu" for another example of this style nearby.

To keep visitors and nighttime skinny dippers out of its pool, the management puts a tarp over the pool from 8pm to 10am. The pool was about 3' deep to 5' deep from end to end -- no diving please since it was so shallow.
