A Tropical Storm Watch has been issued for Wilcox County, including Camden and Pine Hill, by the National Weather Service (NWS) Mobile AL, effective today, October 8, 2026, at 4:14 AM CDT. Residents should immediately begin preparations for severe wind, potential flooding, and isolated tornadoes.

Strong tropical storm force winds of 40-50 mph, with gusts up to 65 mph, are anticipated from Friday evening until Saturday morning. Damage to roofing, siding, mobile homes, and significant tree damage are possible. Efforts to protect life and property should be underway. Act now to complete preparations before hazardous winds begin.

Moderate rainfall of 2-4 inches, with locally higher amounts, is expected, creating a potential for significant flooding. Emergency plans should include the possibility of evacuations and rescues. Heed any flood watches and warnings; failure to act may result in serious injury or loss of life.

A few tornadoes are also possible. If a tornado warning is issued, be ready to shelter quickly. For local information, contact Wilcox County EMA at 334-682-4911. For storm impacts, visit www.weather.gov/mob.
