WILCOX COUNTY, AL – A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Wilcox County, including Camden and Pine Hill, effective immediately by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Mobile, AL. This warning was issued on October 9 at 9:49 PM CDT and expires on October 10 at 6:00 AM UTC.
Residents should be prepared for dangerous winds, with peak gusts potentially reaching 50 mph. While the latest local forecast predicts winds below tropical storm force, there is a potential for winds between 58 to 73 mph. Last-minute efforts to protect life and property should now be complete. All residents are advised to shelter from dangerous wind now. Significant wind damage is possible.
A Flood Watch is also in effect for Wilcox County, with an additional 1 inch of rain expected. The NWS warns of the potential for major flooding from heavy rain.
