A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Wilcox County, including Camden and Pine Hill, by the National Weather Service (NWS) Mobile, AL, effective immediately as of October 9 at 10:13 PM CDT. Residents are advised to shelter now as dangerous winds are unfolding.
Peak wind gusts of up to 50 mph are expected, with a potential for winds reaching 58 to 73 mph. Last-minute preparations to protect life and property should be complete, as significant wind damage is possible.
A Flood Watch is also in effect, with an additional 1 inch of rainfall expected. This poses a potential for major flooding, which may prompt evacuations and rescues. Rivers and streams could rapidly overflow, and flood waters may enter structures. Heed all flood watches and warnings immediately. Failure to act could result in serious injury or loss of life.
No tornadoes are expected at this time. The warning is set to expire on October 10 at 6:15 AM UTC (1:15 AM CDT).
