Tropical Storm Warning for Wilcox County: Shelter Now!
A Tropical Storm Warning is active for Wilcox County until 3 AM CDT Saturday, with residents urged to shelter immediately due to dangerous winds and potential for major flooding.
A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for Wilcox County, including Camden and Pine Hill, issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Mobile AL at 6:53 PM CDT on October 9. This warning is in effect until 3:00 AM CDT on October 10.
Residents in affected areas should shelter immediately from dangerous winds. Peak wind gusts of up to 55 mph are expected, with a potential for winds reaching 58 to 73 mph. Significant wind damage is possible.
A Flood Watch is also in effect. An additional 1-3 inches of rain, with locally higher amounts, could lead to major flooding. Evacuations and rescues are likely due to rapidly overflowing rivers, streams, and canals. Flood waters may enter structures, and many roads and bridges could become impassable or washed out. Heed all flood watches and warnings.
