A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Wilcox County, including Camden and Pine Hill, by the National Weather Service (NWS) Mobile AL, effective immediately as of October 9 at 4:07 AM CDT. Residents must prepare for dangerous wind and significant flooding.
Wind speeds of 30-40 mph with gusts up to 55 mph are forecast. Potential exists for wind up to 73 mph. Residents should complete all efforts to protect life and property immediately and move to safe shelter before hazardous winds begin. Significant damage to roofing, siding, and outbuildings is possible, along with downed trees and power outages.
A Flood Watch is in effect, with 3-6 inches of rain expected, and locally higher amounts. Major flooding is anticipated, potentially leading to evacuations and rescues. Rivers and small streams may overflow, and floodwaters could enter structures. Heed all flood watches and warnings; failure to act could result in serious injury or loss of life.
