A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Wilcox County, including Camden and Pine Hill, by the National Weather Service (NWS) Mobile AL, effective immediately as of October 9 at 7:27 AM CDT. Residents must move to safe shelter before hazardous winds begin.

Peak winds of 30-40 mph with gusts up to 55 mph are expected, with a potential for winds reaching 58 to 73 mph. Significant damage to property, including roofing, siding, and mobile homes, is possible. Expect several large trees to be snapped or uprooted, leading to impassable roads and scattered power outages. Remaining efforts to protect life and property should be completed as soon as possible.

A Flood Watch is also in effect. Major flooding from 3-6 inches of rain, with locally higher amounts, is anticipated. Evacuations and rescues are likely, and many structures may become uninhabitable. Heed all flood watches and warnings; failure to take action could result in serious injury or loss of life. Tornadoes are not expected at this time. The warning is set to expire at 3:30 PM UTC today.
