A Tropical Storm Watch has been issued for Wiggins by NWS Mobile AL, urging residents to prepare for dangerous winds and moderate flooding, with the watch effective until 6:15 PM CDT today.

Wiggins residents are urged to finalize tropical storm preparations immediately. A Tropical Storm Watch has been issued for Wiggins, effective from 10:06 AM CDT today, October 8, by the National Weather Service (NWS) Mobile AL. The watch is set to expire at 6:15 PM CDT today.

Dangerous winds are anticipated, with potential for strong tropical storm force winds between 58 and 73 mph. Gusts up to 35 mph are expected. Prepare for significant wind damage, including to roofing, siding, and mobile homes, and expect large trees to be snapped or uprooted. Unsecured lightweight objects could become dangerous projectiles. Scattered power and communications outages are possible.

Additionally, 1-3 inches of rainfall, with locally higher amounts, could lead to moderate flooding. Emergency plans should include the potential for evacuations and rescues due to swollen rivers, creeks, and urban inundation. Heed any flood watches and warnings.
