The City of Westlake seeks residents to fill a volunteer vacancy on its Parks Committee. The position allows citizens to influence the development of the city's public spaces and recreational offerings, from greenways near The Acreage to local parks.
The Parks Committee makes policy recommendations to the Common Council and City Staff regarding park maintenance, design, usage and future vision. Committee members, who are city residents or live nearby, serve three-year terms appointed by the Mayor and Common Council. The committee aims to enhance the beauty, vitality and sense of community in Westlake's parks.
The committee meets at 10 a.m. on the third Wednesday of each month in Westlake City Hall. Meetings are open to the public.
Current committee members include Chair Kirstin Fletcher, Vice Chair Christina Van Der Meulen, Tom Bergin and Mark Sindell.
