Westlake residents undertaking construction or renovation projects now have access to new building forms through the Building Department. The department also clarified inspection procedures and reminded residents to call 811 before any digging.

The City of Westlake contracts with SAFEbuilt for inspection services and plan review. To schedule an inspection, residents must call (208) 913-0188, leave a voicemail with the site address, permit number, and requested inspection type. A 24-hour advance notice is required.

Updated forms are available for new residential and commercial builds, additions, remodels, and accessory structures over 200 square feet. Permits for Building Permit Extensions (within 180 days of expiration), Demolition Permits, Fence Permits, and Roof Permits also have new forms. A Setback Permit is required for accessory structures under 200 square feet.

Residents planning any digging must call 811 before starting work to mark underground utilities. This service can also be scheduled online at http://www.digline.com/idaholaw.

For questions regarding building permits or development, contact Brian Parker, Community Development Director, at [email protected] or (208) 788-2128.
