4 Dead in Fountain House Fire: Grandparents, 2 Grandsons Die

A devastating house fire early Friday morning claimed the lives of two grandparents and their two grandsons in Fountain, Florida. Bay County Fire Rescue crews arrived at the scene to find the home engulfed in flames.

Bay County Sheriff's Office deputies attempted a rescue but could not enter the burning structure. One deputy was transported to the hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation. Two pet dogs also died in the blaze.

The boys, aged 11 and 13, were students of Bay District Schools. The district released a statement expressing its heartbreak and deployed grief response teams to support students and staff.

Fire officials noted the response was challenging due to the lack of hydrants in the area, which required water to be brought to the scene. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
