WESLEY CHAPEL – BayCare’s Graduate Medical Education program has doubled its capacity following a successful 2026 Match Day, expanding its ability to train physicians. The program offers residencies and fellowships in internal medicine, family medicine, general surgery, and pharmacy.
Dr. Raquel Gonzalez, Designated Institutional Official for BayCare’s GME program, said the expansion allows BayCare to train more residents and fellows. "This expansion is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our faculty, staff, and residents, and it will allow us to continue to provide outstanding medical education and patient care," Gonzalez stated.
The program provides residents and fellows with a curriculum, advanced facilities and exposure to a diverse patient population. They work with experienced physicians to gain clinical experience.
"This expansion will allow us to continue to attract top medical talent to the region and to provide our patients with the highest quality of care," said Stephanie Stewart, Vice President of Academic Affairs for BayCare.
