Ms Shirley Helena Martin, was born on July 1, 1948 in Brooklyn, New York. She transitioned peacefully on May 4,2026 at Accentcare IPC in Cumming, Georgia.Shirley was educated in Julia Richman High School in Manhattan, New York. She worked as a system operator for Savannah River Site. Shirley touched the lives of many as mother, sister, aunt, grandma and friend. Her loving and giving spirit will be dearly missed by many.Shirley is preceded in death by her parents Nathaniel and Earline Yates.She leaves to cherish her precious memories- two children: Kenneth(Annie)Martin of Duluth, Georgia, Michele Martin of Owensboro, Kentucky; one sister, Veronica(John) Cox Jr. of Brooklyn, New York; Also survived by special friend, Robin Jeffery of Yonkers, New York; cousin, Sarah Broxton of Denmark, South Carolina; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; Long time dear friend, Jean Watkins and familyMemorial Services for Ms. Shirley Helen Martin will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. at Benson Funeral Home.Visitation will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026 from 12 P.M. until 1 P.M. at Benson Funeral Home.Benson Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Ms. Shirley Helen Martin.
