Mrs. Joan Moss, age 85, of Dallas, Georgia passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026, in the presence of family.She was born Joan Annette Butler on September 16,1940, in Dallas, Georgia to Addie (Fennell) Butler and George Butler. She is survived by two children, Rusty Moss(Vicki) and Anita Martin, Grandchildren Jason Carter(Jamie), Tabitha Golden(Curt), David Blair(Christina), Benjamin Moss(Gina), Brandon Paris(Lisa), Ashley Winograd(David) and Kristen Ivey(Scott), her brother Gary Butler (Nancy) and her sisters-in-law Susan Butler and Catherine Raper and a multitude of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Joan was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Russell Lawrence Moss, her daughter Susan, her parents, her brother Ricky Butler, and her sister Dixie Whitman and brother-in-law Gerald Whitman, sister and brothers-in-law Hazel Morris(Earnest), Mary Dean Gravett(Carl), Janelle Bagwell (NT) and Carolyn Freeman(Edmond).She was a member of New Canaan Baptist. She was a homemaker always prioritizing her family, though she did work at a daycare at one time, and worked the polls at almost every Paulding County election for decades. She was a caretaker at heart and always tried to serve other's needs before her own. She was a great listener and always wanted to make people feel better about themselves while she was humble to the core. Her home was always open to family and friends, and she was known to cook a fresh pan of biscuits any time, day or night if someone mentioned they were hungry. She always watched her Georgia Bulldogs and couldn't understand why Kirby Smart wasn't the Coach of the Year every year. She will be missed by many and always fondly remembered.Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2026, from noon until 2 p.m. Private burial services for the immediate family will be held at a later date. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Dallas Memory Gardens.The family would like to thank everyone for their love, prayers, and support during this time.In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Joan's memory to New Canaan Baptist Church Building Fund, 3147 Atlanta Highway, Dallas, GA 30132.
