7-Eleven to Acquire Stripes and Speedway Stores, Expanding Florida Presence
IRVING, Texas, (Sept. 11, 2023) – 7-Eleven, Inc. today announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire approximately 2,930 Speedway and Stripes® convenience stores and associated Laredo Taco Company® restaurants from Sunoco L.P. (NYSE: SUN) for $2.15 billion plus estimated adjustments for inventory. The acquisition is expected to close in the first quarter of 2024 and is subject to customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions.

(NYSE: SUN) for $2.15 billion plus estimated adjustments for inventory. The acquisition is expected to close in the first quarter of 2024 and is subject to customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions. “This acquisition is a great fit for our portfolio and will allow us to continue to grow and expand our reach across the U.S.,” said Joe DePinto, President and Chief Executive Officer of 7-Eleven. “Stripes and Speedway are well-known brands with a loyal customer base, and we are excited to welcome them into the 7-Eleven family.” The stores are located in 31 states, with a strong presence in Florida, Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. The acquisition will increase 7-Eleven’s store count in the U.S. and provide the company with a larger geographic footprint to serve its customers. “We are committed to providing our customers with the best possible convenience experience, and this acquisition will help us do just that,” said DePinto. “We look forward to working with the Speedway and Stripes teams to integrate these stores into our 7-Eleven network.” 7-Eleven plans to continue operating the stores under the Speedway and Stripes banners. The company also plans to invest in the stores to improve the customer experience and expand the product offerings.
