Drivers and pedestrians in the Lower Columbia River area, Cowlitz County Lowlands, North Clark County Lowlands, and Inner Vancouver Metro should exercise extreme caution this morning due to areas of fog, some locally dense. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Portland, OR, issued a Special Weather Statement today, October 5th, at 4:44 AM PDT, warning of roadway visibility of less than one mile.
Morning commuters can expect rapidly changing visibility conditions. This Special Weather Statement is effective immediately and is set to expire at 10:00 AM PDT today, October 5th.
For those driving, the NWS advises slowing down, using your headlights, and maintaining plenty of distance between your vehicle and others. Pedestrians and cyclists are urged to wear bright or reflective clothing and carry a light to increase their visibility to drivers.
