In-Person Disaster Loan Assistance Available for Chelan Hills Fire-Affected Residents • Douglas County, WA If you were affected by the Chelan Hills Fire, SBA disaster loan assistance may be available to help you recover-whether you own a home, rent, run a business or operate an eligible nonprofit. Douglas County News & Information Posted on September 30, 2026 The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will have representatives at the Douglas County Law and Justice Center beginning Thursday, October 1, to assist residents, businesses and eligible nonprofit organizations affected by the Chelan Hills Fire. SBA representatives can answer questions, explain available SBA disaster loans and assist with completing applications. SBA Outreach Center Location: Law and Justice Center100 19th Street NW, East Wenatchee Opening: Thursday, October 1, at 1 p.m. Hours: Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Representatives will be here until October 23. Please note the SBA Outreach Center will be closed Monday, October 12. SBA disaster loans may be available to eligible homeowners, renters, businesses and private nonprofits affected by the fire. Homeowners may qualify for up to $500,000 for damage to a primary residence and up to $100,000 for personal property. Renters may qualify for up to $100,000 for damaged personal property. Businesses and eligible nonprofits may qualify for up to $2 million for physical damage and, in some cases, economic injury. Interest rates are as low as 2.875% for homeowners and renters, with terms of up to 30 years. No payments are due for the first 12 months, and there are no fees to apply. Agricultural producers, farmers and ranchers are not eligible for SBA disaster loans, except for aquaculture enterprises. Treasurer's Office offers tax payment collection in Upper County Kittitas County, WA - 10/01/2026 - Treasurer's Office offers tax payment collection in Upper County The Kittitas County Treasurer's Office is pleased to announce that, during the month of October, a staff member will be in Upper County accepting property tax payments at the Kittitas County Upper District Court offices. Beginning Friday, October 2nd, payments can be made on Tuesday and Friday afternoons from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm in the Upper District Court Building at 700 E 1st Street, Cle Elum WA. This schedule will continue through Friday, October 30th. Payments made by cash, check, money order, credit card, or debit card will be accepted at this location. It is our hope that this will provide easier access for making tax payments to all county residents. To make paying taxes easier, the Kittitas County Treasurer provides several ways for property owners to pay their taxes quickly and conveniently. Online through your bank online services. Online through paymybills.link/kittitas or by calling Point and Pay directly at (866) 279-1721. Please note that a 2.5% credit card fee, a $3.95 debit card fee, and a $2.00 echeck fee will be charged for this service. By mail- Taxpayers should include their tax statement and write the property tax account number on their check or money order. Cash should not be sent through the mail. In person at the Treasurer's Office in the Kittitas County Courthouse, 205 W 5th Ave Suite 102, Ellensburg. Office Hours are Monday-Thursday 9:00 am-4:00 pm, and Friday 9:00 am-3:00 pm. Self Managed Payments- You can now manage your own account and payment schedule through the Treasurer's website Kittitas County Treasurer | Payments A black drop box is located outside of the Courthouse on the left side of the driveway for easy drive through access. DO NOT use the white ballot box for tax payments. A mail slot is located inside the Courthouse next to the Treasurer's doorway.
