Hillsborough County election equipment passed a public Logic & Accuracy Test on Oct. 1, 2026, ahead of the upcoming General Election. The Hillsborough County Canvassing Board confirmed that ballot scanners, used for early voting, vote-by-mail and Election Day balloting, are functioning correctly.
During the test, officials ran pre-filled ballots through a random selection of scanners to ensure they accurately read all ballot positions and count votes as intended. Florida law requires this testing before every election, supervised by the Canvassing Board, to ensure equipment meets state certification standards.
The tested equipment has been sealed and will remain under camera surveillance until deployed to polling locations. Following the election, the Canvassing Board will conduct a post-election audit to verify reported results. Residents can access detailed results of the Logic & Accuracy Test via a link on the VoteHillsborough.gov homepage.
Hillsborough County Court Judges Frances Perrone and James Salvatore Giardina, along with Supervisor of Elections Craig Latimer, oversee these election processes.
