A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Chambers County, including Valley, Lanett, and Lafayette, as of October 9 at 9:56 PM CDT by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Birmingham, AL. This warning is in effect until October 10, 2026, 6:00 AM UTC.

Residents should prepare for moderate flooding due to an active Flood Watch. Additional rainfall of 1-3 inches, with locally higher amounts, is expected. This could lead to significant impacts, including swollen rivers, overspilling banks, and localized flooding in vulnerable areas. Evacuations and rescues are possible. If you are in a flood-vulnerable area, consider protective actions and heed all flood watches and warnings.

While sustained winds are expected to remain below tropical storm force, gusts up to 45 mph are possible. Little to no additional wind impacts are anticipated, but officials are assessing current impacts. Tornadoes are not expected, according to the NWS.
