Residents in Southern Trinity, Northwestern Interior Mendocino, Northeastern Interior Mendocino, Northern Lake, Northwestern and Central Trinity, and Northeastern Trinity areas must take action now to protect tender plants from the cold. The National Weather Service (NWS) Eureka CA has issued a Freeze Warning effective from 1 AM to 8 AM PDT on Tuesday, October 13.

Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 29°F are expected. A Frost Advisory is also in effect for other areas, with temperatures as low as 33°F, which will result in frost formation.

The NWS warns that frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation, and potentially damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. Sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered.

This warning was issued on October 12 at 7:41 PM PDT and expires on October 13 at 8:00 AM PDT.
