Heat Advisory Issued for Mendocino and Lake Counties Through Thursday
A Heat Advisory has been issued for Mendocino and Lake Counties, with high temperatures of 95 to 105 degrees expected through Thursday, October 8, 2026.
Residents in Mendocino and Lake Counties are advised to take precautions against extreme heat, as a Heat Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Eureka CA. The advisory is effective immediately, October 6, 2026, at 12:49 AM PDT, and will remain in effect until Thursday, October 8, 2026, at 10:00 PM PDT.
High temperatures are expected to reach between 95 and 105 degrees Fahrenheit during the day. Overnight temperatures will range from the high 50s to 60s. This weather pattern presents a moderate to localized major HeatRisk, increasing the potential for heat-related illnesses.
The affected areas include Northwestern Interior Mendocino, Northeastern Interior Mendocino, Southwestern Interior Mendocino, Southeastern Interior Mendocino, Northern Lake, Western Lake, Southwestern Lake, and Eastern Lake counties.
The NWS advises the public to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, stay out of the sun, and check on relatives and neighbors during this period of elevated heat.
