Heat Advisory Issued: Mendocino and Lake Counties to See 95-105°F
A Heat Advisory has been issued for Mendocino and Lake Counties by the NWS, warning of temperatures between 95-105°F until October 8 at 11:00 PM PDT, urging residents to take precautions against heat-related illnesses.
Residents in Mendocino and Lake Counties are advised to take precautions against extreme heat. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Eureka has issued a Heat Advisory effective immediately, October 6, at 11:30 AM PDT, and continuing until Thursday, October 8, at 11:00 PM PDT.
High temperatures are expected to reach 95 to 105 degrees Fahrenheit, with overnight lows in the high 50s and 60s. This includes Northwestern, Northeastern, Southwestern, and Southeastern Interior Mendocino, as well as Northern, Western, Southwestern, and Eastern Lake County. The NWS indicates a moderate to localized major HeatRisk during this period.
The primary concern is the potential for heat illnesses. To stay safe, the NWS recommends drinking plenty of fluids, staying in an air-conditioned room, avoiding direct sun exposure, and checking on relatives and neighbors.
