TROY, PIKE COUNTY – A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Troy, Pike County, effective immediately by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Birmingham, AL, as of October 9, 2026, at 1:19 AM CDT. The warning is set to expire at 9:30 AM CDT.

Residents in Troy should prepare for hazardous wind conditions, with peak gusts up to 45 mph. Potential impacts include limited damage to properties such as porches and sheds, broken tree limbs, and scattered power outages. All remaining efforts to protect property should be completed as soon as possible. Move to safe shelter before hazardous winds begin.

A Flood Watch is also in effect, with 1-3 inches of rain expected, and locally higher amounts. This poses a potential for moderate flooding, which may require evacuations and rescues. Heed all flood watches and warnings. Rivers and creeks may become swollen, and some roads may become impassable.

Additionally, conditions are favorable for several tornadoes, some of which could be intense. Those in manufactured homes or on boats are urged to relocate to safe shelter. Listen for tornado watches and warnings and be ready to shelter quickly if issued. Potential impacts include significant damage to structures and widespread power loss.
