William "Bill" Esler Edwards, a lifelong Titusville resident, died peacefully Sept. 28, 2026. He was 85.

Born Dec. 13, 1940, in Titusville to John and Elizabeth Edwards, Bill loved his family, possessed a strong sense of humor and enjoyed the outdoors around the Indian River Lagoon.

After high school, Bill served in the U.S. Army, working at the Pentagon. He then lived and worked in Chicago for several years before returning to Titusville. There, he reconnected with Lynn, a high school acquaintance, and they married in 1967. They shared 59 years together.

Bill and Lynn raised their daughter, Michele, in Titusville. He enjoyed yard work and his hobbies included music, photography and traveling, with Alaska being a favorite destination. He took great pride in his roles as husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, especially on the Space Coast.

Bill is survived by his wife, Lynn Edwards; daughter Michele Fincke and her husband Paul; grandchildren Holly Bruneau and Brandon Fincke and his wife Kylie; great-grandchildren Wyatt, Lincoln, Willow, Parker and Weston; and sister Kathy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elizabeth Edwards, and sisters Jeanne, Carol and Pat.

Friends and family will gather at First Christian Church of Titusville on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026, at 9 a.m. A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m., followed by a luncheon in the fellowship hall.
