Titusville Mourns Kenneth "Kenny" Bennett

Titusville lost a beloved community member with the passing of Kenneth "Kenny" Eugene Bennett, 58, who died Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026, after leaving a physical therapy session in Oviedo, Florida.

Bennett, known for his unwavering faith, dedication to family and friends, and generous spirit, worked tirelessly to regain abilities after a hemorrhagic stroke on July 4, 2022. He aimed to continue serving those around him and his Lord.

Born Nov. 14, 1967, in New Albany, Indiana, to Carol Ann (Agan) and Jerry Eugene Bennett, Kenny spent his early life in New Albany and Louisville, Kentucky. He moved to Titusville in 2012 with his wife, Jeanne. They were married 28 years and raised seven children before Jeanne's passing in 2014.

Bennett's career in commercial and residential painting became a ministry. He mentored young people, sharing his faith and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Beyond work, Kenny enjoyed fishing, swimming, NHRA drag racing and Notre Dame football. His greatest loves were his family, friends and faith.

After marrying Charlotte Waddell, Kenny joined First Christian Church in Titusville and served as a deacon until his stroke. He expressed a deep desire to recover and continue his service to the Lord.

He is survived by his sisters, Patty (Stan) and Susan; his children, James (Lisa), Jamie (Steve), Dale (Dana), Ashley, Aaron, Brittany and Kaitlynn; his stepdaughters, Cecelia and Allison (Josh); and his stepson, Brandon. He also leaves behind 17 grandchildren: Eli, Madeline, Ethan, Lauren, Brie, Tylor, Elizabeth, Dale, Daren, Dalton, Declan, Bryan, Rosalyn, Cheyenne, Trinity, Ava and Sophia, as well as one great-grandson, Jordan.

Friends and family will gather at First Christian Church, 2880 Jay Jay Road in Titusville, on Sunday, Sept. 20, 2026. The Sunday church service runs from 10 to 11:15 a.m., followed by a luncheon in the FCC Fellowship Hall at 11:30 a.m. A Celebration of Life service begins at 1:30 p.m.
