Tropical Storm Warning Issued for Thomasville: Act Now!
A Tropical Storm Warning, Flood Watch, and Tornado Watch are in effect for Thomasville; residents must act now to prepare for hazardous wind, extreme flooding, and potential tornadoes.
THOMASVILLE, GA – October 10, 2026 – The National Weather Service (NWS) Tallahassee has issued a Tropical Storm Warning for Thomasville, effective immediately. Residents are urged to complete all preparations now as hazardous conditions are imminent.
A Flood Watch and Tornado Watch are also in effect. Immediate action is required for safety. Plan for hazardous wind of equivalent tropical storm force with peak gusts up to 30 mph. Efforts to protect property should be underway, and preparations for limited wind damage should be completed.
A Flood Watch is in effect, with potential for extreme flooding from heavy rain, including an additional 1 inch of rainfall. Emergency plans should include the potential for widespread rainfall flooding. Residents must heed any flood watches and warnings; failure to take action could result in serious injury or loss of life. Evacuations and rescues are likely.
A Tornado Watch is also in effect. The situation is favorable for several tornadoes, with a few possibly intense. Those in manufactured homes or on boats should relocate to safe shelter immediately. Listen for tornado watches and warnings and be ready to shelter quickly if a tornado warning is issued.
