The National Weather Service (NWS) in Grand Forks, ND, has issued a Freeze Warning effective from midnight tonight, October 1, until 9:00 AM CDT on Friday, October 2. Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 31 degrees Fahrenheit are expected across portions of north central and northwest Minnesota and northeast North Dakota.
These conditions could harm or kill crops and other sensitive vegetation. Unprotected outdoor plumbing may also be damaged. The NWS advises taking steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. Please note that urban centers may experience slightly warmer temperatures, potentially avoiding freezing conditions locally.
