Leece Hall ('18) Thrives in Pediatric Patient Care in Temple Terrace

Temple Terrace native Leece Hall, a 2018 Florida College graduate, now works in pediatric gastroenterology, caring for patients from infancy through young adulthood. Hall realized she wanted a more hands-on role in helping others, which led her to direct patient care.

During her time at Florida College, Hall pursued a liberal studies degree with a focus on health and behavioral science. She played volleyball, participated in societies and formed close friendships. Christian professors, including Todd Chandler and Gary Wileman, deepened her interest in science and faith.

After graduating in 2018, Hall initially worked as a clinical trial coordinator in oncology. While the role contributed to medical work, she desired more direct patient interaction. This desire intensified through a friendship with a woman from her church undergoing treatment. Hall wished she could do more to help her friend.

“I could only do so much,” Hall said. “I wanted to have a more hands-on role in her care.”

This experience prompted Hall to pursue physician assistant (PA) school at Samford University, where she graduated in 2024. In her current role in pediatric gastroenterology, Hall spends time with families, consults with physicians and provides clarity during stressful moments. She emphasizes the importance of one-on-one time with children.

“I get to sit with the kids and explain things in a way they understand,” Hall said. “That one-on-one time is really important and is a key part of my job.”

Hall also developed videography skills, which she used to earn income during PA school. She encourages students to pursue their interests and trust the outcome.

“Success is starting,” she said. “It’s taking the leap and trusting that God will take care of the rest.”
